FourBlock helped me with all the basics needed to go out and get started at my next career. They taught me networking, helped build my network, resume assistance, interviewing, negotiating and more!I can honestly say I would not be where I am right now without the help of FourBlock. I am currently interning with a great company and they have already made me an offer! I am excited about working with this company and it is all thanks to FourBlock!
FourBlock was a standout experience in my transition journey. The chance to network with professionals and potential employers in person was incredibly impactful. It gave real clarity to the opportunities out there. The tools and resources we received were practical, relevant, and something I’ll continue using moving forward. The Facilitators led the sessions with energy and purpose, and my coach was exceptional. He was always thoughtful and genuinely invested in my success. I’m grateful for the experience and would highly recommend the program to any transitioning service member looking to level up.
FourBlock gave me the broader perspective of the job hunt. Blindly applying for work through the internet is nothing but a path to rejection. Making connections and broadening your network in the field you want to work in at the companies you want to work at is the key to success. I learned this through the absolutely greatest program for transitioning vets and my wife learned as well as a military spouse. Worth your time and resources!
I am also a volunteer coach and instructor.
FourBlock sets the gold standard for career readiness. As a transitioning Veteran it provided invaluable opportunities and establish an excellent foundation for the transition. Now I have the opportunity to pay it forward as a readiness coach and mentor. FourBlock has built a solid reputation and has a wide reaching network to offer numerous opportunities depending on a variety of career path options.
FourBlock is such an incredible program! Took me from having no idea what I was doing in my transition from the Navy to confident and connected in my search. It's 10 weeks of intensive training designed to help transitioning servicemembers land meaningful careers after the military, and it delivers on that promise. Cannot recommend the program and everyone who works for it highly enough. Thank you!
Fourblock was an excellent organization and the cohort led by Monica was phenomenal. The agenda and schedule was spot on as our group got to visit many large business to gain insight into their business and career opportunities. Monica had lots of strong connections to make each company visit worth every session. I did appreciate the option for virtual sessions because of the schedule. Overall, I gained valuable insight from the company visits, coaches, and other transitioning military members.
FourBlock was the military transition course I wish I'd known about sooner! Each one of the coaches and weekly sponsors were friendly, professional, and truly cared about me having a successful military transition. I learned about some new fields I'm interested in, I learned I'm not actually interested in some jobs I thought I was, and I gained dozens of connections across multiple career fields and domains. I was able to use the skills I learned in FourBlock to get a job interview with my dream company, and one of the coaches was able to mentor me through the process including contract negotiations and interview prep. I recommend FourBlock to all of my colleagues transitioning from the military and I cannot say enough positive things about the program. Thank you, FourBlock!
As a Air Force veteran and recent college graduate I wasn't very optimistic about re-entering the professional world as 37 year old. However, with the experience and expertise provided by my coaches and mentors, I found the FOURBLOCK program to be most beneficial for me during this transition in my life.
FourBlock has been a game-changer in my transition from military to civilian life. The program provided career guidance and a strong sense of community and belonging that was crucial as I navigated new professional challenges. The insights and connections I gained from industry professionals were invaluable, and the workshops helped me refine my job search skills and approach.
On a personal note, FourBlock gave me the confidence to pursue my career goals with a renewed sense of purpose. The encouragement I received from the staff and mentors was genuine and impactful, making a real difference in my life. I’m grateful for the support and resources they provided, and I highly recommend FourBlock to any veteran looking for a supportive network and career guidance.
The Good:
- In-person workshops and networking with people dedicated to improving themselves.
-Staff working tirelessly to ensure your success, answering questions, and pointing you to the best resources they know.
Areas for Improvement:
- They could elevate the tier of companies they network with; since it’s all "free-chicken," every networking opportunity should be aspirational and not routine.
- It would be beneficial to include speakers from niche yet lucrative fields like tech and incorporate graduate school planning into the overall strategy for success.
I’m incredibly proud to served as an Instructor and Coach with the Fourblock Foundation, an organization that is truly transforming the way military veterans transition to the civilian workforce. Fourblock’s outstanding curriculum not only equips veterans with the tools to navigate this pivotal life change, but it also provides a supportive community where they can thrive.
For me, this role is deeply personal and rewarding. Drawing from my executive experience, I have the privilege of helping veterans translate their unique skills, leadership qualities, and resilience into successful civilian careers. It’s a humbling experience to walk alongside these individuals as they start a new chapter, offering guidance, encouragement, and actionable strategies.
The pure joy comes from seeing graduates of the program step into their new roles with confidence and purpose. Their success is a testament to the incredible work Fourblock does in building bridges between military service and civilian careers.
To my fellow veterans: there’s a world of opportunity waiting for you, and organizations like Fourblock are here to help you seize it. To those who support Fourblock’s mission, thank you for being part of this meaningful journey.
The military instills exceptional soft skills such as organization, adherence to timelines, team building, and collaboration - qualities that are universally valuable in the civilian workforce. At the same time, numerous outstanding institutions provide the technical education and accreditation needed to complement these skills. Yet, there remains a significant gap in the transition from military to civilian careers: the ability to effectively connect talent to opportunity. This gap highlights the critical importance of staffing, recruiting, and workforce solutions.
FourBlock addresses this challenge head-on, focusing specifically on supporting our nation's Veteran service members as they navigate their transition to civilian careers. By bridging the divide between military experience and the corporate world, FourBlock fulfills an essential role within this vital industry.
Personally, FourBlock opened my eyes to the transformative power of networking—a skill that is often overlooked but is critical to career success. The Seattle FourBlock cohort, in particular, stood out as an exceptional resource, filled with dedicated professionals and a strong support system.
As a proud graduate of the Fourblock program in 2019, I can confidently say it was instrumental in my transition from military to civilian life. Since then, I've had the privilege of serving as a coach and panel member across various Fourblock locations. It's always inspiring to encounter fellow alumni in the corporate world and witness their remarkable achievements, which speak volumes about the program's impact. I am committed to supporting this invaluable initiative because connecting with service members during such pivotal career transitions is both rewarding and essential. Thank you, Fourblock, for your continued dedication to empowering veterans!
Fourblock was an outstanding organization that has help me develop and expand my network to industries I did not ever imagine I would be at. They have given me the confidence to know I will be well prepared in my future endeavor. Thank for everything!
Working with Fourblock was amazing. I was given very useful skills with learning how to use LinkedIn, elevator pitch, and resume writing. I also gained a lot of knowledge of what hiring managers, HR, and recruiters look for. 10/10 would highly encroach and recommend any veteran, service member, or spouse to go through the programming.
Participating in the FourBlock Career Readiness Program was a transformative experience that sharpened my professional development and broadened my career perspective. One of the most impactful aspects was the opportunity to network with diverse industry leaders who generously shared their insights and personal journeys.
Through tailored workshops, I refined critical skills like crafting a compelling professional narrative and leveraging LinkedIn for career growth. The mock interviews and resume reviews were particularly valuable, offering actionable feedback that enhanced my confidence in articulating my unique value.
What stood out most was the sense of camaraderie within the cohort. Collaborating with fellow transitioning veterans, all with distinct experiences and aspirations, fostered a supportive environment that encouraged personal and professional growth. FourBlock not only provided me with tools for a successful transition but also reinforced the power of community and mentorship in navigating career opportunities.
FourBlock is an incredible organization that supports service members, veterans, and military spouses in successfully transitioning to meaningful new civilian careers. Their commitment to providing essential resources, such as career development and community reintegration programs with Fortune 500 companies, is commendable. The organization demonstrates genuine care and passion, ensuring each veteran feels valued and empowered. Their transparency and consistent impact make them a trusted ally for those who have served. I highly recommend FourBlock for veterans and allies looking to support a meaningful cause or participate in an upcoming cohort as part of their transition process!
The FourBlock Foundation was an exceptional program during my military transition. While I often received resources in the form of paper documents, this program stood out by providing real opportunities for veterans to practice their speaking skills and gain valuable insights into how corporations operate beyond military installations. The classes and networking opportunities offered by FourBlock were truly transformative. I wish more veterans knew about this program and took advantage of its benefits.
The leaders and coaches were incredibly supportive, and over the course of the 10-week program, students gained invaluable knowledge about networking and professional growth.
FourBlock has been an incredibly impactful resource in my transition from military service to the civilian workforce. The program provided me with a clear roadmap for navigating the challenges of shifting into a corporate career, from refining my resume to understanding the nuances of corporate culture. The workshops and coaching sessions were especially valuable, offering hands-on advice that I could immediately apply in my job search. What really set FourBlock apart, though, was the mentorship. Being paired with a mentor who truly understood the unique experiences and skills I bring from the military made all the difference in my confidence and approach to job hunting.
The network of veterans and corporate professionals I gained access to through FourBlock will continue to be a valuable asset, offering support and opportunities long after the program ended. Thanks to FourBlock, I not only found the resources to secure my next career move, but I also gained a sense of community with others who were going through the same transition. It’s been an essential part of my journey, and I’m grateful for the guidance and connections it has provided. I wish every veteran had the privilege of participating in this program.
Hands down - FourBlock is a powerful and positive game changer for the transitioning military community.
It’s also a game changer for corporate America. How? Because it delivers better candidates for interviews and helps them as new hires to adapt quickly to the company culture.
I like to say……It does a body good.
I’ll make it easy for you: the FourBlock Instructors, Coaches and Staff are simply the best. They care, they are committed and they invest in you.

FOURBLOCK has significantly contributed to my transition preparation efforts by establishing a safe environment each week that encourages open dialogue. Hosting organizations, mentors, and visiting staff provide valuable feedback and demonstrate a strong commitment to paying it forward. I am extremely grateful for their assistance and willingness in accommodating my cohort location change to meet my profesional needs.
I first heard about FourBlock while stationed at Camp Pendleton. During my transition from military service, I attended the mandatory Transition Readiness Seminar and participated in numerous job fairs between San Diego and Bakersfield, CA, including those on Camp Pendleton. It was at one of these job fairs in 2018 that I encountered a FourBlock information table, which immediately piqued my interest.
Earlier that year, I had also attended the Commit Foundation’s transition readiness course, which shares a similar mission of helping America’s top-tier service members and veterans find personal and professional purpose after military service. The knowledge I gained from Commit was invaluable, and I was eager to learn even more to prepare myself for civilian life. Signing up for FourBlock was an easy decision.
The experience with FourBlock was fantastic. I appreciated the introduction to numerous partner organizations and enjoyed learning about their operations and hearing the transition stories of veterans within those organizations. The coursework was thought-provoking and designed to build upon the skills learned each week, creating a cohesive and comprehensive learning experience.
After completing the FourBlock program, I had five meaningful interviews, three of which resulted in job offers. This process allowed me to evaluate potential employers through a different lens. Instead of focusing solely on the need for a job and income, I considered the culture and values of the organizations, as well as how the positions aligned with my interests and skills. This newfound confidence in knowing what I wanted and being able to articulate it set me apart from other candidates, including civilians.
Feedback from interviewers often highlighted the noticeable difference in my preparedness and storytelling ability. They could see that the skills I had honed through FourBlock were setting me up for success. As veterans, we are known for our confidence, teamwork, and ability to get the job done. However, employers also need to see that we understand their organization and can articulate the value we bring.
FourBlock taught me the importance of self-awareness, research, and storytelling. By picturing myself in the roles I applied for and discussing my skills, experiences, and how I overcame challenges, I was able to make a compelling case for why I was the right fit for the position. The beauty of FourBlock lies in the practice it provides in honing your story and crafting your message, with support from coaches, instructors, partner companies, and peers.
After working in Minnesota for a few years, I was thrilled to learn that FourBlock was expanding into the Midwest. I immediately jumped at the opportunity to be part of this expansion. It has been incredibly rewarding and one of the most beneficial experiences for transitioning veterans, helping them prepare for their next mission in the “fourth block.”
An amazing and impactful organization that provides premier career readiness tools for service members, veterans, and military spouses. As an employee partner, I have observed the life changing outcomes that Four Block continues to deliver. When a veteran or military spouse is seeking a meaningful career, Four Block is a must to successfully navigate the stressors accompanied with pursuing purposeful careers. Thank you Four Block for your ongoing impact to our beloved Military Community.
I have been involved with FourBlock for close to 10 years and the only thing that has changed are the faces of the students. What I mean by sharing that is the core deliverables and guiding principles are a constant and can apply to any and every student regardless of where they are in the transition process.
I was first introduced to a student who was an E-4 from the USMC. I was enamored with his presence and professionalism. Turns out that he was (then) a speech writer for the Obama administration. I took the time to ask this young veteran about his evolution and without skipping a beat, he shared that he owed all of his success to FourBlock. I asked if he could introduce me to anyone in Leadership so I could learn more.
Two company partnerships, countless hires, time serving as a coach, mentor, and instructor and now as I write this, I would recommend this organization to any employer, veteran, or organization who is looking to better understand the space, find amazing talent, or understand what "right" looks like.
FourBlock is the veterans transition and career readiness program every veteran deserves. In the Marine Corps we talked about setting conditions for the outcomes you want whether in the barracks or battle space, well FourBlock is all about setting the conditions for you to accomplish what you want with your post-service career. You will learn how to develop and tell your story, whether through a resume, your LinkedIn activity, or by standing up and telling it. And part of the secret sauce is you will be doing that in a room of coaches, instructors, mentors, recruiters and FourBlock allies who have already said “yes” to be interested in hearing what you have to say.
If you are a veteran—wherever you are in your career transition planning process—you owe it to yourself to take advantage of what FourBlock is offering. But hey, I am biased, I start my new job with a FourBlock sponsor in about a week.
I had the privilege of participating in the FourBlock Foundation's career readiness program as a fellow during the Fall 2023 cohort, and I can confidently say it was a transformative experience. The program provided me with invaluable resources and support as I transitioned from military service to a civilian career.
The San Antonio FourBlock team is incredibly dedicated and knowledgeable. They offered comprehensive training on networking, resume building, interviewing, and negotiating. The personalized attention and guidance I received were instrumental in helping me secure a meaningful job in my desired field.
What sets FourBlock apart is their genuine commitment to the success of veterans. They not only equip you with the necessary skills but also help you build a strong professional network. The connections I made through FourBlock have been invaluable in my career journey.
I highly recommend the FourBlock Foundation to any veteran looking to transition to a civilian career. Their program is top-notch, and their support is unwavering. Thank you, FourBlock, for making a real difference in service members lives!
Veterans have the leadership qualities that are valuable to an organization. FourBlock provides veterans with the knowledge, tools and skills necessary to transition their experiences to a civilian career. FourBlock partners with corporations and engages volunteers to support veterans throughout the process.
The end result is that the program allows veterans to successfully identify a career that interests them in a company that aligns with their skillset and values.
I cannot speak highly enough about the FourBlock program, staff, and instructors. I firmly believe that of all the programs that veterans can choose from to assist in their respective transition process, FourBlock is "Best in Show". I credit FourBlock for allowing me to open my post military career aperture, gaining more self-confidence in myself as I entered the civilian work force, giving me exposure to a broad range of potential companies, and allowing me to develop a network of fellow transitioning veterans. The instructors are truly vested in each veteran student as they progress through the syllabus and are true professionals themselves. I believe very much in the structure and delivery of this program...so much so, that I now volunteer as a coach to pay it forward for other veterans.
I went through the FourBlock cohort in 2018 and have since come back as a coach. FourBlock is vital in a service members transition to the corporate world and beyond. The network you gain once you are part of "The Tribe", is unmatched and can open up pretty much any door if you need it. I work at Georgia Gwinnett College and have guided some of our student veterans into FourBlock and it is life changing for them. I will always be part of FourBlock because they were the reason I had success beyond the uniform.
As a graduate of the program, I can say firsthand that FourBlock is an incredible organization that provides invaluable career development and networking opportunities. I was fortunate enough to participate in the Spring 2023 cohort in NYC, and it was an experience I could not replicate in my own.
The program covered everything from career exploration to personal branding and resume building. I was even paired with an amazing executive coach. As a veteran transitioning into civilian life, I found these skills incredibly valuable. The program was tailored to meet the unique needs of veterans, which made it all the more effective.
But what sets FourBlock apart is its networking opportunities. Through the program, I connected with employers and professionals in my field that I could have never imagined. These connections opened doors for me that I didn't even know existed.
As a veteran, it is challenging to navigate the civilian job market. But FourBlock provides the support and resources you need to succeed. I highly recommend this program to any veteran transitioning into a civilian career.
Working with the FourBlock team has been a wonderful experience- their relationships and results are outstanding and just what every transitioning military and veteran community member needs to succeed.
Fourblock has been a true gamechanger in my transition. Although I attended the traditional TAP class, the Fourblock program greatly extended those topics and opened my eyes to the power of networking.
I was able to build a network, grow a pool of mentors and gained a lot of practical knowledge I am confident that the skills I gained will be directly utilized during and after transition.
This is a great organization that works with veterans all over the world, regardless of time zone (and country!) to help them execute what is likely one of the most nerve-wracking events of their lives up to that point: leaving the military. Seriously.
I was very fortunate to attend FourBlock in the fall of 2022 and I found it to be an outstanding experience... and I remain very much in touch with many of my classmates and facilitators to this day. If anything, I found the process to be reassuring above all else - FourBlock's leadership is empathetic to veterans' concerns and very knowledgeable... I never heard a single person say "no" to any requests or questions I had. Really a great experience. I have since encouraged many of my fellow Officers and Chiefs to attend this class as well, and I know their experience has been as impactful as mine from talking with them.
There are a lot of veteran transition programs out there, and I used a few of them... but I honestly found FourBlock to be the very best of them all.
Great organization, great leadership, great people... fulfilling an important mission!
My experience with FourBlock was above and beyond any expectations I had. My cohort felt like a family of other current and former military members going through the same transition together. We not only received help with our own professional development, but we were able to hear directly from companies. We learned about their culture and types of jobs they were hiring for, as well as made connections to help us identify mentors and ultimately get hired. Saving the best for last - the staff was amazing and dedicated! Bernard hopped on a call with me early one morning to talk through the soul searching that comes along with such a big life change and my assigned mentor was very helpful as well. Love FourBlock!
Four Block helped us build a micro-community of veterans in San Antonio that keeps expanding based on networking opportunities. Their coaches helped guide us through one of the most stressful times of our lives, in the worst economy since the 2008 recession. Despite all this uncertainty, Four Block coaches encouraged us and cultivated skills that served us well in our career pivots. I can’t say enough about this organization and it’s people.
I was so fortunate to be a participant in the Spring '23 Texas virtual cohort. The guest companies were top tier employers, the curriculum relevant and the coaches dedicated. I am still in regular contact with my coach and will be for a long time. I highly recommend this excellent program to all transitioning vets!
FourBlock was instrumental in my transition from the military into a civilian career. The coaches, mentors, and corporate volunteers were very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to provide us with the skills and resources we needed for success.
Tremendous organization that truly desires to help out nation's veterans transition into the civilian sector. Staffed by dedicated, knowledgeable, caring individuals who genuinely want what is best for warriors leaving the service. I would gladly recommend FourBlock to any of my friends or colleagues as a great education and networking opportunity.
Fourblock's staff and training program to assist transitioning service members is absolutely amazing. It has provided me with tools and resources not provided by any other transitioning program out there. It has made my military retirement to civilian workforce very easy. The amount of stress they have relieved is unmeasurable. Thank you once again for all the help you provided me and others getting out of the military. Thanks!!!
I had the great good fortune of being a Career Readiness Instructor for the Boston FourBlock cohort this year. I was blown away by the rigor and discipline of the program, the commitment of the participants and the incredible support shown by our nine corporate hosts.
Any servicemember who is beginning their military to civilian career transition owes it to themselves to learn more about FourBlock. It is a game changer.
I had no plan getting out of the military; was happy to land on my feet and support my family, but 3 years out of service I needed something new in my professional career. I found FourBlock, signed up for the Boston cohort, and it changed the trajectory of my professional life. I was satisfied with status quo in my post military job, which was not my mentality while I was in the military. FourBlock provided me the tools and resources to be confident in my military experiences, and shaped my perspective to take on new challenges, providing a roadmap for me to explore and accept opportunities I had no idea I needed. I am forever grateful for this amazing organization.
I am a recent graduate of their military spouse program. An excellent collaboration with Prepare to Launch U. What I gained from the program has given me the skills and self-confidence to not only change careers but see that I have non-traditional experience to leverage as I prepare to launch my private financial counseling practice.
When I found FourBlock I was looking to touch base with a group that could help me polish up my resume but what I got was so much more. For starters, FourBlock is more than a service they are a community. Each week Andrea, Susan and Kelley fully invest theirselves in our lives. Through genuine conversations and thought provoking activities it became clear early on there is a desire to help me not only find a career, but match myself to a career I can fully invest in. Additionally, FourBlock provides a dynamic and interactive network of professionals to engage with on an easy to navigate platform. Just a few moments online and I can connect with industries through meet and greets, direct connections, and through training opportunities in key technologies. Finally, and my most favorite, working with FourBlock has fostered a sense of confidence in myself I have never experienced before!
Thank you FourBlock!
FourBlock is an amazing veteran career readiness partner. Not only do we have the opportunity to give back to the veteran community way of Fourblock, Fourblock teaches us and is making us smarter around veteran hiring. I have evaluated other veteran programs, and while they are all great, Fourblock stands out.
FourBlock is an absolute game changer! I participated in Fall 2017 as part of the Seattle, WA cohort and it set me up perfectly for multiple corporate fellowship opportunities through HoH, and ultimately was instrumental in my decision to completely pivot out of healthcare and into corporate recruiting. The instructors and curriculum taught me how to share my story, from a quick elevator pitch to conveying my 23 years of military experience, and I learned how to put it all on paper via master and target resumes. The program continuously challenged me to introspect which fostered tremendous self-awareness, but then amplified my personal growth by introducing the cohort to the in-person corporate cultures at multiple private sector companies. I never would have thought working anywhere outside of healthcare would be a possibility had I not participated in FourBlock. I'm forever grateful for having the opportunity to participate in an amazing program and always highly recommend transitioning service members, veterans, and their spouses participate.

FourBlock's Career Readiness Program was exactly what I needed in order to prepare for my military transition. I enrolled into the Seattle Fall 2017 Cohort in prep for my pending retirement in April 2018. Not only was I blown away by FourBlock's online didactics via Columbia University, but the hands-on exercises of developing career skills were second to none! Our cohort learned everything from learning the art of networking, designing "elevator pitches," and tailoring resumes to building professional relationships, interviewing, and negotiating salaries. I highly recommend FourBock for all active military and veterans in transition!
It is a great program that the one must enroll!
Specially if he or she is in the situation trying to figure out who they are, what they really want to do and what they can do.
I am in the mid way of the program and and i have learned already so much and very excited to see myself at the end of the program. It is an amazing to find out who I am.
Kelly and Susan are an extraordinary women who coach you throughout the program.
FourBlock helped me tremendously as I prepared for my career after military service. The coaches and host companies dedicate their time and knowledge to the transitioning service members, giving them a unique opportunity to learn about career opportunities and best practices for the job seeking process. In my cohort, FourBlock taught me many factors about landing the role and landing on my feet after military service. While still in FourBlock, I was able to land a position with Amazon using many of the skills and knowledge I learned throughout the course. I couldn't be any more thankful for the opportunity to learn from industry leading companies and excellent coaches. In addition, FourBlock also gave me the opportunity to learn and brainstorm ideas with other transitioning service members in the same position as myself. FourBlock should be referred to all military members that are transitioning towards a civilian career! Today, I serve as a FourBlock coach. It is a role that allows me to provide my knowledge and experiences with people getting ready to exit the military and explore the next chapter of their lives.
Fourblock is simply amazing! I was able to receive valuable coaching and mentoring as I transitioned. The ability to connect with mentors and companies was invaluable. I received a skillbridge opportunity with AWS and was offered a full time offer by the end of my internship. Fourblock should be a part of every Veterans plan as they continue in their professional journey.
To my #Veteran, #transitioningservicemembers, and #militaryspouse folks out there..
For those of you who have not yet been exposed to this phenomenal program and highly-supportive team of professionals, #FourBlock is hands-down THE BEST career transition program that I have ever experienced! So I urge you to take that (albeit, daunting) first step, and apply for this FourBlock program - Invest in your future.
Six weeks ago, I was so humbled and grateful to receive word from FourBlock that I had been selected to join #FourBlock’s Fall 2022 #VirtualTexas Cohort!
Our Coaches, Mentors, and distinguished guests from Uber, Wells Fargo, LinkedIn, Salesforce, AWS (and many, many more..) have spent countless hours of their time guiding and preparing each of us for new/different professional roles in today’s workforce. Our top-notch FourBlock (Virtual Texas Cohort ) team has introduced me to a network of knowledgeable and influential professionals across a diverse spectrum of industries, and provided me with invaluable feedback on aspects of my career transition, such as:
- Revising and updating my resume

Four Block is a a fantastic nonprofit which has changed my life! The teachings and feedback I received were such a game changer for me. I was able to change my perspective on my job search and choose a new field with confidence. They helped me see that people don’t have to continue with the status quo.
By far one of the most influential and beneficial organizations. They were instrumental during my transition out of the military. I can't thank them enough. I increased my knowledge and network for industries and companies and significantly assisted in guiding my direction and my new "reason why".

I transitioned from the Army in 2021, and FourBlock was instrumental in achieving success. The networking with companies, fellow service members transitioning out, veterans volunteering their time as mentors and the like helped me learn about professions, industries and SMEs. I was able to get "soft introductions" to industry leaders to learn more about companies and see if I would be a good fit culturally and professionally. These informational interviews greatly assisted my career search. Highly recommend!!
I I cannot imagine my military transition without FourBlock. FourBlock was the steeping stone that helped launch my transition into success. I was recommended this program by a colleague. This program connected me with great mentors, coaches, and company representatives. FourBlock helped me find networking events, career fairs, etc. which increased my LinkedIn connections and community involvement. I was able to get help on my resume, networking, putting goals together and many other things. I was also able to connect with Hiring Our Heroes which I will be in the next cohort. At one of the event I was able to get a professional photo shoot for free. Most importantly, I able to connect with people in my FourBlock cohort that were in the same situation as me. We became connected and cheered each other on! I still keep in touch with my FourBlock coaches and they are always there for me. I wish this program was mandatory!! I have told everyone I possibly could about it. I am constantly sharing them on LinkedIn to get the word out.
FourBlock has helped me to see my true potential aside from my military career. They have given me the tools to be successful wherever I want to go and in any organization I want to be a part of. They have given back the civilian side of me that has been missing for 22 years while on active duty.
I enrolled and graduated from FourBlock spring '22 cohort in San Antonio Texas.
FourBlock is an amazing program and one veterans should make time in their transition calendar to leverage.
The pre-work and session work was not overwhelming and very relevant to the transition journey. Practicing your elevator pitch is also a key learning. Most of all, the stellar companies and executives that participate to provide instruction and insights are amazing.
FourBlock helped de-mystify the corporate world for me. I'm now working at an amazing firm doing work that is both challenging and rewarding. It's amazing to be on a high-performing team again.
This was one of the many programs I took part in during my transition from the military after 20 years. I really needed the help and this program gave me valuable insight into the corporate world. I learned a great deal that I was able to use to find my current role, which brings me so much joy in my post-Marine Corps career. I feel like I was prepared to find the right spot through programs like FourBlock. This program in particular is top notch. Super quality in everything they do. In particular, my assigned coach helped me through some job search struggles by being present. He listened and helped me work through the process. I couldn't be happier with this program and the results I received. I expect to be in my same role for a long time, and I attribute a lot of that confidence to what I gained through my participation in FourBlock.
FourBlock's Military Spouse Career Readiness Program with Prepare To Launch U transformed my professional outlook, helped me regain my confidence, and helped me develop a solid career game plan. I loved the journey and am so grateful to FourBlock for the assistance.
FourBlock was so instrumental in my transition. The instructors, the course work, the organizations that came to talk to us, really helped me to feel more ready and prepared for my transition from the military! I believe that getting my elevator pitch down was what gave me my Skillbridge opportunity which ultimately led to full time employment. I have no doubt that if it wasn’t for FourBlock, my transition would’ve been SO much harder! I’m very appreciative of all that FourBlock offers the military community!
FourBlock Career Readiness Instructors (CRI), Skills Coaches and Alumni all care about supporting veterans as the transition from the service into their next career chapter. From the founder to a local coach in one of the many cohorts, everyone shows genuine support and encouragement as veterans figure out how to share their service experience both written in their resume and vocally as they share it within their elevator pitch and/or in mock interviews. I, myself, learned so much during the 10 week program and have since been hired by one of the many corporate hosts. Serving as a Skills Coach, I am able to mentor others sharing my experiences to support their successful transition.
During my transition from the military to the civilian world in 2021, FourBlock was invaluable. The facilitators relaying and delivering best practices and introductions to various people and companies in areas I was interested in absolutely made my transition easier. The facilitated discussions with other transitioning veterans was not only great for learning about other career fields but, it also helped to know that the trials and tribulations I was facing were not unique or insurmountable. In all, FourBlock was the right help, in the right place, when I needed it. If not for them, my transition would have been much harder and I wouldn't have been as successful as I have been.
I transitioned in 2018 from the Army after 28 years of service and was fortunate to be included in the inaugural FourBlock cohort for Tampa Bay that year. I had a very insightful and helpful experience with the class and thought that it was such a good program, that when I transitioned successfully to a new career I choose to give back by volunteering with the Tampa FourBlock cohort as a mentor, counselor and guest instructor whenever needed and still do to this day! #TransitionBetterAchieveMore!
Great leadership and engagement that all ties well with supporting the students through their professional learning journey.
As an instructor for FourBlock, I have seen firsthand the amazing impact the program has had for 300+ military veterans. The professionals in our cohorts have found career success in every industry and in hundreds of organizations. This is largely possible due to FourBlock's exemplary stewardship of its donations, placing the highest priority on direct contribution to program efforts that directly impact cohort students.
This is the program that I wish I'd known about when I was leaving the military. I do not believe there is a better employment focused program for transitioning military and veterans who are looking for meaningful employment within corporate America. I first discovered FourBlock in 2018 and then waited patiently for Orlando, FL to be chosen as a cohort location. I have been one of two Career Readiness Program Instructors for the Orlando cohorts since early 2020.
Here is my 'why': "When I retired from the Marine Corps in May 2016, I had no idea how to properly network, I didn't have a network in Orlando outside of the Defense industry, I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do, and I had no understanding of how companies hire talent. Unfortunately, I didn't know about FourBlock and so many other resources then. If I had, then my transition would have been much smoother. My own personal experience is why I am now happy to be a FourBlock instructor in Orlando because I know so many other transitioning military members and veterans have the same hurdles." - Barron Mills
I transitioned to the tech industry after a 28 year career in the Navy. I found FourBlock instrumental in helping me prepare for that transition and build the right approach to job identification, resume development and interview approach. There are many, many organizations aimed to assist military members make that leap, and FourBlock is one of the best.
This is an incredible non-profit dedicated to supporting veterans in their transition to careers in the business world.
FourBlock is an incredible program and an absolute must for all transitioning service members. I served in the Navy for four years and completed FourBlock following my service.
Through a FourBlock connection, I was able to secure an amazing job in the highly competitive world of investment banking. More than a year and a half later, I received a call from a connection I made via an introduction from a professional I met via FourBlock event where he asked me to interview for a role that I ultimately ended up taking. It was an incredible opportunity to further my career and professional skills.
In addition to the two roles I have been hired into via a FourBlock connection, I have also hired several interns and employees via referrals from FourBlock alum.
If I could leave six stars, I would. I really could not speak any higher of this program and the staff that support transitioning service members.
Fourblock is an amazing resource for transitioning out of the military. I left the Navy in 2018 and wasn't 100% sure what industry I wanted to enter. Fourblock was instrumental in helping me not only identify industries, but also learning about myself, my skillset, and opportunities that I didn't know existed. I've stayed involved since I went through the program and it is the first program that I recommend to transitioning vets!
This is an amazing non-profit that helps Veterans transitioning as well as ensuring a well built network to help optimize opportunity for employment upon completion.
Four Block is a great resource for veterans who are transitioning from the military to civilian life or veterans who have already transitioned looking to reboot their careers. As a corporate sponsor at Cox Communication it is an honor to support this organization and the great work they do in the communities we serve.
I was totally involved with this outstanding organization - attending meetings, recruiting Veterans to join, recruiting organizations to sponsor, speaking at sessions, promoting FourBlock to Atlanta community and business leaders. A well defined mission, superior orgnaization, top tier leadership and staffing, program execution second to none, successful transition of Veteran Students into the work force.
FourBlock has been a great organization to team up with and support. Every time we have opened our doors to help support the training efforts FourBlock provides, we have come away with some great candidates to pursue for our career opportunities. Their instructors do a phenomenal job that totally keeps the student engaged. We love FourBlock.
I am so grateful to FourBlock for developing an amazing program for military spouses. They have partnered with the talented ladies of Prepare to Launch U to create a comprehensive, online and FREE class to Milspouses where you uncover your values and strengths, overcome career gaps and design a resume, Linked In profile and elevator pitch. The graduates coming out of this program definitely stand a little taller after completion. Thank you FourBlock!
FourBlock was incredibly instrumental in my military transition! Learning from the instructors, networking with professionals in industry, working through my elevator pitch, understanding my worth among many other topics, all contributed to building my confidence in being able to successfully pursue a career after my time in the service. The mindset of "paying it forward" and support the tribe is incredibly real with this group and I will be forever indebted to this organization!
FourBlock is an amazing organization that helps veterans to successfully transition from their careers military careers into civilian ones. It has been my privilege to be involved with the organization for the past 4 years. FourBlock helps the transitioning veterans with career readiness through classroom settings and also introduces them to different organizations that want to hire them. It's truly is an amazing organization and does great work.
I went through the FourBlock program Spring 2019 before transitioning out of the Navy in Dec 2019. FourBlock helped me land a three month DoD SkillBridge internship! One of the consulting firms that hosted a session turned into a great opportunity to connect with the lead HR POC who make everything happen for me. This allowed me to spend my remaining months on active duty service, out of uniform and in a cooperate office. I know work at the largest financial institution in the country and as a FourBlock Alum, trying to pay it forward by hosting future events to help veterans, much like myself, with their transition. This organization is packed with added value, quality mentorship, top resources and absolutely free to vets. There simply is no downside to any service member who is wrestling with career exploration.
It was FourBlock that helped me land a job at the #2 cancer hospital in the world. I started in clinical research until I finished my my engineering undergrad. I left the clinic for scientific research and ultimately some entrepreneurial endeavors. But the work I found there made a difference, so occasionally I still slip into the lab to support their medical breakthroughs. I wouldn't be doing what I do today without FourBlock.
As a FourBlock alumni, I can personally attest to the professionalism, dedication, and commitment FourBlock has to our transitioning Veterans.
The United States Military does their best to assist with a service member's transition through their Transition Assistance Programs (TAPS) programs; however, the Bereau of Labor and Statistics show that Veteran unemployment in 2019 is at 3.1% (284,000 veterans). To many, 3.1% may not sound like much, but there is an additional side to this story that rarely get's addressed. Zip Recruited and the Call of Duty Endowment conducted research and discovered that 1/3 of Veteran job seekers are underemployed. That is over 15% higher than non-veteran job seekers.
As I write this review, we are in the midst of a global pandemic, and I fear that these numbers may become much higher as we turn the corner to recovery. This is the precise reason I am writing on here. I want to share with everyone the value of FourBlock and how they have developed a program that addresses the areas not covered in the TAPS programs. In my personal opinion, FourBlock's partnership with corporate america, and their volunteer force of prior service professionals are a game changing combination for Veterans looking to crush their transition goals.
Whether you are a transitioning service member, or company/organization, FourBlock provides you with a tremendous service. For Veterans, you gain access to a comprehensive transition program, and have the opportunity to meet and network with FourBlock volunteers and corporate sponsors who in many cases have gone through what you are going through. Companies/organizations gain access to highly diverse and incredibly skilled candidate pool spanning several different industries and professional volunteer force who can help discuss how to attract and retain Veterans, all while helping deliver positive change and value to the lives and future trajectory of each and every transitioning service member in attendance.
I am proud to partner with FourBlock in my role as the West Market Unit Inclusion & Diversity Recruiting Lead at Accenture. We have teamed up with FourBlock to facilitate workshops around mock interviews and career readiness. FourBlock has played a vital role in the success of transitioning military vets to the corporate world. They provide a connection to opportunities with employer sponsors and a vast network of FourBlock alumni to tap into for career guidance and mentorship. I highly recommend FourBlock as they are strongly dedicated in ensuring transitioning vets are successful in their transition journey. I appreciate everything that FourBlock does to enrich the lives of their members and look forward to elevating our partnership!
FourBlock had played a major role in jump starting my career in operations. As an Air Force veteran i believed that I somehow had an advantage going into the academic and corporate realm. Although it did help that I needed some polishing. FourBlock taught me the basics and then taught me the secrets into getting into the corporate field. Helped me land my first major internship at CBS and then onto my first supervisor role in Amazon. I owe so much to this program and i truly believe that other veterans like myself will benefit from something like this.
I'm an alum of Four Block's spring 2015 cohort out of Washington, DC and eventually landed my first job out of the Navy with JPMorgan Chase in Manhattan, as part of their Global Treasury team.
Four Block not only represents the coach I needed after my transition but also the bridge - helping to connect my Navy life with professional aspirations.
This Foundation has undoubtedly changed my life and I'll always encourage the vision of Four Block for any of my Veteran brothers and sisters.
Participating in FourBlock's Career Readiness Program for transitioning veterans was the single most valuable thing I did to prepare myself to transition out of the military. They helped me think through the kinds of careers that would be the best fit for me, helped me understand that most crucial parts of transitioning into one of those careers, provided mentors across numerous career fields and industry-leading companies, and provided invaluable experience networking with professionals in our targeted careers.
I recommend this program to every transitioning veteran I know.
I learned about FourBlock while attending school in NYC following my retirement from the military. In my military career, I knew that I had developed experience and skills that should set me apart in the job market. I lacked the experience and vocabulary to capitalize on my military skills. My semester with FourBlock was transformative. I was able to work with compassionate staff members who mentored me in networking, resume writing, and corporate culture. I was also introduced to corporate sponsors who were positive and constructive in their interactions with me. One of these sponsors offered me an internship before my semester with FourBlock was over leading to long-term employment.
I am grateful for my FourBlock experience and have recommended other veterans to this program.

FourBlock is an incredible resource and organization who dedicate their times to get to know each person who attends their cohorts and work with them individually, along with the sponsors within the area attending, to provide the most knowledgeable and personal attention to detail to help us transitioning servicemen and women when we decide to enter the 'real world' after serving our nation.
I attended the FourBlock Tampa cohort in the spring of 2018 and have been an extremely energetic advocate ever since and tell all of my friends and veterans I come in contact with to describe the program, how it's helped within my transition after serving 28 years of active duty, and all of the sponsors and local representatives who have the best interest in your transition as if it was their own again.
Four Block is an amazing organization with fantastic people.
I first came in touch with FourBlock while attending college after my service in the Marine Corps. The training was phenomenal and provided opportunities and connections that are still valuable to me years later, including access to an executive education program. The amount of resources is spectacular and I recommend anyone to participate.
I was first introduced to FourBlock several years ago when I joined one of their cohorts in Manhattan. I had very recently separated from the military and was pursuing an undergraduate degree with the hope of breaking into the finance industry.
During my time with the cohort, I found the quality of the instructors, the content of their lessons and depth of their professional network far exceeded my expectations. FourBlock is truly a brand-name organization with strong connections across a number of industries. On top of providing a much needed service to transitioning veterans, the FourBlock team has always been highly personable and helpful (even as an alumnus of the program). I look forward to staying connected and seeing the organization's continued growth and impact.
I attended this program in 2011 and it was amazing. It made clear the many things that i learned and did in the military that i can bring to any corporation. I think that the things i learned there and the opportunities it provided were key to my success thus far in my career. I would recommend fourblock to any and all Veterans. As a place to donate you can know that your money is helping veterans achieve career success and to lead fulfilling lives following their time in service.
As a transitioning service member, I participated in every military transition assistance program I could find. I found FourBlock to be the most focused and effective program out there for exposure to vet-friendly firms in industries beyond defense contracting. In fact, I was so impressed that I've remained affiliated ever since as a coach and presenter, and the program gets better with every cohort.
FourBlock is a necessary good for veterans, transitioning service members, and its partners. I’ve taken the course in Spring 2019 at New York City, and enjoyed the program as well as the people there. The organization provided deep insight about the corporate world, visiting many companies across several industries. If you are a veteran or transitioning service member who is eager about jumpstarting a career in the corporate world, this is the place to go. With many experts and volunteers, you are guaranteed to take away many things to position yourself as a strong candidate in any job.
All career changes are hard, but the transition from military to civilian is especially tough. Veterans face a variety of barriers to successfully launching a rewarding second career, like having a lack of confidence that the hard-won military skills can apply in the civilian workplace. The curriculum at FourBlock addresses this challenge, and many others, over the course of a variety of in-person and virtual sessions. I learned how to translate my military experience into marketable skills, ‘pitch’ myself with confidence, network efficiently, and interview effectively. I am fortunate to have made the successful transition into the civilian workforce and I am grateful for my mentors and peers at FourBlock. I recommend FourBlock to every transitioning service member I run into.
FourBlock provides critical information and opportunities to veterans during their transition back into the civilian sector. Prioritizing the development of interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate and translate the unique strengths, capabilities and experiences veterans infuse into companies, FourBlock prepares its students to have productive interviews and discussions with talent acquisition personnel.
FourBlock is the quintessential transition program for our current generation of veterans. The organization’s goal is not to “place” veterans into jobs or internships, but to help them develop the networking and relationship building skills they need to find their own success in the civilian workforce. This effort would not be possible without the generous support of an employer community that understands what these talented men and women bring to the corporate America...each and every day.
We've partnered with FourBlock for a couple years now. It has been such a rewarding experience. They are a top-notch team providing incredible services and value to our nation's veterans. It's been an honor to serve those who have given everything to serve our country.
Booz Allen Hamilton had the honor to host a FourBlock class in Atlanta recently; it was a great experience. The training provided by FourBlock instructors and how they engaged students was outstanding. The participation of the students was great—very engaged from the networking process through the class of instruction. The make up of the Fourblock students was very impressive as well and was commented on by many of the Booz Allen Hamilton that help support the class and networking. As a leader of Booz Allen Hamilton’s military hiring initiative, I am exposed to multiple resources around veteran hiring, training and transition. Fourblock is one of the best!
I have worked with Fourblock in Atlanta for several years. They provide a great service to veterans through both the organized course materials and the networking opportunities. The course content is excellent and helps the veterans develop the skills necessary to succeed in their job search.
This is a great organization, which helps give Military Veterans additional tools to assist them in their transition into Corp America. As an alum it gave me a tremendous advantage and confidence as I moved out of the military culture and into corporate environment.
My company, SunTrust Bank, has been a sponsor of Fourblock and their efforts for three years now. Fourblock is an outstanding nonprofit who is executing on the critical mission of helping our deserving Veterans find new careers. As a co-chair for our Veteran's business resource group, I see a lot of Veteran related nonprofits. Fourblock is one of the best in terms of its mission, how it executes on that mission (key performance indicator based) and how it is a good steward of donations. Not only have we supported Fourblock, Fourblock has provided our corporation with key talent who has impacted our company in a positive way.
Fantastic mission and execution, enabling military veterans to become leaders in industry, government, and whatever environment comes with their next phase. The best comparison I can come up with is a military-centric, executive MBA. It comes with corporate culture experiences, expert instruction, real-world transition stories, networking, and everything in between. I couldn't be prouder to be associated and volunteer with such a high-functioning and high-impact environment!
FourBlock is such a great program available to veterans at no cost. The instructors are there to help and guide you through your transition whether you are separating from the military or switching careers.
They connect you to great people, help you think about what you really want and show you paths and options on how to get there. The power of networking is incredible!
I was a student at the Bremerton, WA cohort, and the first cohort in Austin, TX. Now I am proud to help give back as an associate instructor.
The job searching methods I learned in Fourblock along with cover letter and networking is what led to me securing my current job I have today.
Fourblock was exactly what I needed when I transitioned out of the Army earlier this year. Their focus is on helping veterans find the next RIGHT thing. Not just finding a job. Taking Fourblock's 8 week course has helped me get on the right path toward a career I'm passionate about.
FourBlock is a great organization for Veterans that are starting from scratch on their transition. Their differentiation is that they require Veterans to be enrolled in an institution of higher learning, meaning that they have students that are students in more ways than one. Their biggest assets are their corporate partners who provide space and networking to the organization as well as the facilitators that truly care about the FourBlock cohort and its students. I think that FourBlock does a great job of connecting Veterans with companies and gives a great lesson on how to meet Veterans in the area who are interested in improving themselves.
I went through the program. It is hosted on Columbia University's servers and is a current and in-depth look at where you are now and where you want to be. How to plan and ensure your success. All of the people who make this possible are A+ and will go out of their way to help you connect or better yourself from your paper resume to how to network.
I recommend Fourblock every chance I get!
One of the best veteran transitional programs out there. They put in a lot of work, not just sitting behind their desk doing lip service.
I took the Fourblock Veteran Career Readiness course in Seattle during spring 2017. I found the course extremely useful for my career search. I thought the learning method (homework followed by in-person discussion with potential employers) to be very effective in teaching the subject matter and encouraging learning. The instructors and guest speakers/discussion facilitators comprised all seniority-levels in the company from very senior to entry-level. All were knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Most of the guest speakers encouraged us to contact them outside of the course for additional assistance. I recommend this course to any veteran or active duty service member nearing a transition to civilian employment.
I joined FourBlock in Spring of 2017 and walked away with a wealth of knowledge. FourBlock's instructional design helps transitioning service members prepare for a post-military career in the civilian workforce. Their use of relevant subject matter experts, networking events, and curricula provides essential skill sets for service members.
During my tenure in the FourBlock training, I learned how to brand myself to organizations seeking highly qualified and technically competent team members. This is NOT a check the block organization. The ability for FourBlock to connect service members to hiring managers and recruiters is beyond reproach. They assist with in-depth review of resumes, LinkedIn Profiles and provide multiple mock interviews, best practices, and lessons learned. FourBlock reaches out to senior recruiters and hiring managers to provide a keen sense of what agencies are expecting from their candidates. They coordinate networking events with both public and private organizations as well as non-profit organizations for those looking to go into the non-profit route.
With FourBlocks help I was able to find the perfect position as a Learning & Development Administrator with an organization that mirrored my values and work ethic. I was so impressed by FourBlock's design and dedication to helping service members that I currently volunteer my time with FourBlock to assist other transitioning service members attain a second career that reinforces the values of our military.
By far, the best military career transition program and it's free!
FourBlock prepared me for my military career transition into the private sector by creating an opportunity to expand my network within it, understand various corporate cultures, learn how to brand myself, how to translate my military experience onto my resume, and how to manage expectations while searching for a new career.
Being able to visit various Fortune 500 companies and being able to speak to veterans employed there was priceless.
Another benefit of the program is that you have free access to complete modules that assist you in the career transition through Columbia University. The assignments you turn in are products that you can use for your transition such as resume building, network tracker, etc.
If you are in the current 20 listed cities, definitely register, regardless if you are a veteran or plan on getting out within a year.
FourBlock is unique among the veteran nonprofits in this country. I've volunteered for several, but the dedication FourBlock in particular has to the veterans they serve and the expertise they bring to the table is leagues beyond any I've experienced. I am fortunate to have the privilege of serving as a mentor in their Walter Reed program and believe FourBlock offers tons of ways for people to get involved. Thanks for serving veterans, FourBlock!
FourBlock is an exceptional non-profit that has helped countless veterans transition from military service to great civilian careers.

Personally, I struggled through transitioning from military service to civilian life mostly because of a lack of mentorship and coaching in the interim. Upon "completing" my transition, I became a leader for the Veteran's Advocacy Network at my company. I decided to reach out to help those that might be facing the same struggles.
Asking around, I was immediately and repetitively told about 4Block, and asked about volunteering for them. I spent a semester as an adjunct professor and have served as a liaison since - and it's been amazing to hear the personal stories of how 4Block has benefited veterans from the past and going into the future. I work with many veterans of the 4Block experience, have taught alongside them, and can attest that their operation is kept lean, efficient, and focused on providing as effective transition support as possible to our nation's military veterans.
FourBlock is the go to nonprofit for veterans to get real training on how to transition with success! It is also a phenomenal place for companies to find high quality veterans to fill critical roles in their companies!
As a military officer preparing to transition to a civilian career after serving 20 years in the U.S. Navy, I have gratefully taken advantage of numerous programs offered by Veteran support organizations. Each sought to impart veterans with transition-related skills and resources to help them gain civilian employment upon retirement/separation from the military.
I recently discovered FourBlock through a colleague and completed their 10-week Career Development Program. FourBlock's course syllabus prepares candidates for success in their post-military careers by teaching them how to communicate their value to the business community based upon the unique skills and aptitudes that they bring. This is accomplished through expert coaching, multi-domain brand development, and the opportunity to participate in evening corporate networking events.
At the start of my transition journey, I knew instinctively that I needed to network and develop professional connections in order to be successful in my job search. However, I had not received any training from the military in this skill area, and did not know where to begin or how. Now, as a proud FourBlock Alum, the outlook on my professional future has brightened considerably. Since completing their program, I've developed a diverse and deep network of professional connections within my chosen industry and beyond. Through these connections I've been accepted into two technology internships, which would not have been possible without FourBlock's program.
I routinely recommend the FourBlock Career Development Program to my colleagues. I can honestly say that it has been the most impactful influence upon my military transition.
If you would like to speak with me about the FourBlock program, please feel free to connect with and message me on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/davidnavaprogrammanager
I feel honored and privileged to be a part of a team that is focused on an important mission at an important time. FourBlock's ability to service veterans in transition has grown rapidly over the past 2 years. I'm most pleased by the high ratings FourBlock receive from Veterans while rapidly expanding the network of corporate partner relationships
FourBlock, founded by veterans and run by veterans, is the most energized and professional nonprofit I have ever dealt with. The FourBlock commitment to excellence and making a difference for veterans is evident from the first time you meet a FourBlock volunteer. All too often large business focus on the “resume” and undervalue strength of character of our veterans. FourBlock helps our veterans build on their character to enrich their “resumes”. Thank you for all you do and keep up the outstanding work!
When I retired from the Navy I had no idea how to get in front of hiring managers and how to get an idea of the corporate culture with limited time. Fourblock provides direct access to top tier corporations that do not see veterans as "Cheap Labor" but instead as the leaders and success catalysts they truly are.
The most valuable insights that Fourblock provided was a cohort of like minded veterans in a variety of spaces to bounce ideas off of. Having industry experts guiding us through curriculum from Columbia's prestigious school of professional studies gave me the confidence, the network and the skills to identify what industry I was most passionate about. I cannot thank Fourblock enough for the priceless gift they gave me and fully intend to pay it forward.
Angel L. Torres, MS., MBA

FourBlock is a great national nonprofit geared for veteran students to become working professionals. I personally have gone through this program and couldn't be more pleased. I engaged in resume workshops, mock interviews, and networked with Fortune 100 companies throughout New York City.
I currently work in the Finance field in Wall Street. If you are a student veteran or know someone who is, please let them know about FourBlock. It truly is a game and life changer. Hooah!
Having experienced the FourBlock program has prepared me greatly for the challenges of transition from active military services. The instruction provided is straightforward and in real-time, the ideal combination to increase the effectiveness of any service member looking at applying skills in the corporate world. Current transition programs provided to service members do not come close to the professionalism and structure that FourBlock provides. I am proud to be a FourBlock Alumni and will credit all my future success to this experience. I highly recommend this program.
Fourblock is a great resource for student veterans, as well as transitioning soldiers searching for a clear understanding of their professional end goals. I have personally met amazing people, both peers and professionals that have helped me to gain better insight of the corporate world and self-growth. There are an many opportunities offered to network and connect with men and women in professional settings. I would recommend this foundation to anyone and everyone.
To be honest, when I started I thought " How is any of this going to make a difference in my life" as well as "I have so little time already, maybe I should not be spreading myself thinner by taking this". Let me tell you, before the course was even over I was already starting to see then drastic benefits my experience here has granted me. I can already look back and see significant ways my life would be different if I had not taken this course (and I would have been very much worse off if I would have opt out). This course has given me vital skills, essential awareness, invaluable connections, and substantial increase in confidence to operate in a field (the civilian corporate sector) that struck me as overwhelmingly alien, impermeable, and something I would just have to try a roll of dice to see where my life ended up. Now, not only can I see behind the veil, I know how to work it and people have people who will work with me if I need help. In a word, this course was imperative.
Great experience!
Four Block is the enlightened opportunity that addresses every area ranging from the mindset preparation – understanding the economy through the eyes of industries – developing confidence in approaching a new era of life – understanding one’s self and developing the ability to identify core competencies.
Above all, the networking experience and encounter with open minded professionals and successful individuals is the exceptional deal maker.
FourBlock is hands-down the best transition program for veterans out there. I have been in the Marine Corps for over 18 years and easily rank this above the other programs offered. The networking opportunities, executive mentoring, and one on one instruction is invaluable!!! I cannot thank the FourBlock team enough for their time and efforts to set all of the students up for success. Highly recommend this program for anyone considering transition from military service, regardless of how long you have served!!!!
The Fourblock foundation was immensely helpful to mapping out my transition plan. The 10 week course provided valuable insight and provided me the tools to make a successful transition after active duty. I can not give enough accolades to this organization for the resources and tools that they provide for veterans in the transition process.
Fourblock is a great asset to veterans as it does help with the transition process. Not only does it assist veterans in future career goals, resume writing, and interviewing techniques but it also provides an invaluable resource to learn and develop networking among veterans and those that support us. I really appreciate everything I have learned and the ability to participate in such an outstanding program.
I've been volunteering with FourBlock for the past several months and have had the opportunity to meet so many amazing individuals and hear their stories. To be able to help, even in such a tiny way compared to what each of them has done, is truly rewarding and I look forward to continuing my relationship with FourBlock in the years to come!
The corporate training programs that the staff at Fourblock provide are a great resource for transitioning service members and Veterans in the Greater NorthWestern Region of the United States. I am far better connected and more prepared to enter the civilian workforce because of the tools that I gained by attending Fourblock Programs. Thank You to Monica McNeal and her Team for their efforts to provide this training and guidance during our transition from the military. I believe, this is truly an expectation management establishing process and a genuine and sincere effort to better prepare myself and my Family for a positive entrance into the civilian workforce.
I first came across FourBlock over 2 years ago while working at a non-profit. I was incredibly impressed by the scope of information and the dedication of the people there. As a veteran in transition myself, I could see the benefit and wished something like this had been available when I left the military. I began immediately recommending the program to my own clients, other veterans in transition. I then began hearing first hand about the impact and watched them one by one get connected to employers and new opportunities. I have seen how effective FourBlock is and the positive changes it's made in veterans and military families' lives. I can NOT recommend this program highly enough. I eventually utilized the program myself and I am a proud alumni! Thank you FourBlock.
FourBlock is a really good resource for veterans looking for a job or starting a career. They can give you tools to help a veteran get a job. I have taken the class twice, and they are really good people that care about helping veterans.
As a transitioning veteran entering the civilian workforce, FourBlock is hands-down the most valuable service that I have received. Going through the cohort not only gave me additional feedback about resume writing, LinkedIn profiles, and networking but also teaches one how to narrow their job search. I certainly got a better feel for what I wanted to do as a new career. The real bonus is you get the inside information from Recruiters and HR professionals from major companies in the area you attend. Best of all, it's the comes FREE for the participant. I would highly recommend FourBlock to anyone veteran looking to get a job in the corporate sector or even just to expand their network.
I wish Four Block had been my transition program when I left active duty. Four Block was immensely helpful in prompting me to think about and re-evaluate my goals, and it provided real, practical, hands-on experience making them happen. It helped me think bigger about what I'm capable of and what I want to do. It's definitely helped me become more connected and engaged in my professional network.
As a Google employee and veteran staffing ambassador, it's been a pleasure partnering with FourBlock! Damien and I had the chance to connect at a tech industry Veteran Event at LinkedIn in NYC. We reconnected a few months later to host FourBlock at Google's campus and discuss our hiring process, how to be prepared for a job on day 1 and the importance of a good culture at work. The event was engaging and students/alumni of FourBlock were a pleasure to have on campus. I look forward to partnering with FourBlock in the future.
Fourblock is an outstanding organization. I had the pleasure of being able to speak with them regarding job searching upon graduation. The individuals had a desire to learn and a undeniable drive to succeed. The stories they shared and the questions that they asked truly resonated with my team.
I have been impressed with the quality of Fourblock candidates my team and I interviewed.
Looking forward to continuing the business partnership.
I've done the course twice now and thoroughly enjoyed it! Teaching veterans skills only branding themselves, pitches, resumes, and more. I think the biggest advantage is helping transition veterans jump start their network and obtaining mentors or sponsors. I've met many great people and it has also brought other veteran opportunities to my radar within my city.
I am a Navy veteran who just recently graduated from college. FourBlock assisted me on developing my resume, translating my military experience, and connecting me with myriad of recruiters.
I definitely would recommend this organization to my fellow veterans!
FourBlock is quite possibly the best transition program. I love that they approach transition as a journey and spend months with veterans, rather than a quick day-long workshop or retreat. Resumes and interviews are probably the least addressed topics (though important!). Rather, they address much deeper, foundational questions such as our personal priorities, our professional goals, etc. I love that they teach professional development topics that are VERY relevant to today's landscape, like emotional intelligence and strategies. Their method is much more methodical than a "passion"-based approach. I won't spill their secrets here, but basically FourBlock veterans are taught to craft their careers through reflection and strategy, rather than simply pursue their dreams.
When getting ready to transition from the Marines back to civilian life I knew school was my next step. Since I wanted to get into a career in financial services it made sense for me to leave the west coast and head to NYC for school. Shortly after I arrived and settled in I went to my career counselor. I knew if I wanted to make it I would need to get some real world experience along with my education and was looking for internship opportunities. Since I was a veteran she handed me a sheet of 3 opportunities that coming summer that would be through a company called FourBlock. Those were the earliest days of the FourBlock, I couldn't find much info on them over the web, but 2 of the internships interested me so I applied and ended up getting one of them.
The next fall FourBlock started to have classes for recently transitioned veterans to help give them the soft skills that weren't part of military acumen. Through the classes and networking events I was able to make a few contacts that lead to another internship the summer before my senior year. When neither of those lead to a full time position Mike and FourBlock didn't give up on me and kept working with me. It was through another networking event of theirs that lead to my post graduation job where I am still at 3.5 years later.
At the end of the day it comes down to the individual to apply what is learned, or in my case land the position, but FourBlock, and Mike Abrams helped put me in the best position to succeed and I will forever be grateful for the help I have received.
A great group of leaders combining their efforts to make a difference for our Veterans and for our business community.
Two years ago I decided to go to business school and start my MBA. Staying on active duty provided the opportunity for a seamless transition. The tradeoff came in losing the ability to network and intern throughout my time in school. Finding a career is a full time job. With the military, school, and searching for my next career. As the transition came closer I wasn't happy with my options. Coming from the military I know there is always another way.
So I went out and found it. Working with FourBlock, I am able to build a network of people in my target city (Atlanta). I meet others like me, going through the transition. Now as I transition I can hear others stories about their transition and realize I am not alone. Hearing people who have pushed through and found their way makes it seem more reasonable and possible.
The transition process is what you make of it. Two options exist: wait for something to happen or go make it happen. FourBlock puts me in front of the right people. We practice our skills every time we step foot in a company. Every company understands the value veterans bring. FourBlock is designed to give people willing to put forth the extra effort an opportunity. Too many veterans don't reach their maximum potential when they transition, because they don't know what is really possible.
No one walks away from a session without learning something. The learning happens from the instructor, the other veterans, or even the corporate partners. Whether it leads to a job or just networking with new people, I know the effort is worth it.
I fell into the Four Block program after I transitioned and immediately felt it's value. I wished I had encountered this program prior to my departure because the information, the format, and the staff are just fantastic. The faster this program expands across the nation, the better.
I am presently transitioning from the military and was introduced to 4Block about 6 months before my retirement. I didn’t realize how much the job market had changed along with the different tools at my disposal. 4Block was able to guide my efforts towards and focus them on networking with contacts within those fields. They made me feel like they truly cared about my welfare and went out of their way to set up calls with me even though I was on the other side of the world. More veterans need to hear about 4Block and what they can do for them. Truly a fantastic organization!!!
Four Block has been an instrumental mentoring source for Warriors at Walter Reed. They have provided insights, leadership, mentoring, networking, professional workshops, and online learning modules for military and post military. They help Service Members and keep track of their procedures and results. First and foremost they provide wise counsel to military undergoing transition.
As a FourBlock volunteer and a US Army veteran myself, I wish that this program would have been available when I was discharged in the early 1990's. I have personally witnessed the positive impact that this program has had on today's transitioning student veteran by providing the tools and training needed for their successful transition into the civilian workforce.
To Mike Abrams and Roger Roley as well as to all current and future FourBlock students - thank you all for your service and for everything that you have done and continue to do for our country! Hooah!
As a Vietnam veteran and past Commander of the American Legion, I have worked with many VSOs trying to help our returning service members.
Only FOUR BLOCK and Mike Abrams excel at providing the tools and motivation allowing service members to transition to active productive members of the community.
When I found 4Block, I was 1 year out of the military and enrolled in a graduate program. I was pretty lost and ineffective, in the job search. Before the program, I applied to multiple jobs/positions that I was over qualified to do but never received a response. After 4Block, I learned to give my elevator pitch, the importance of networking in job hunting, the relevance of networking events, how to work a room, and it was an extremely positive experience that I would recommend for all veterans enrolled in an educational institution.
I've tried out some veteran groups before and while each one has comradery they don't do a lot. So I was surprised when FourBlock did more than turn oxygen into carbon dioxide, they helped gear us up to be successful. Not only giving us tools and resources for later but also connecting us with people/companies that were in our target area. I've told all of my other vet buddies to check them out, they offer a terrific service and only ask that you help out a vet down the road.
Four Block does a phenomenal job assisting veterans with their career transitions. I have personally witnessed the transformation of seasoned military veterans with high potential but near-zero corporate awareness, to polished business leaders ready to take on the challenge of the civilian workforce. The Four Block team understands the needs of veterans, leverages appropriate corporate leadership resources, and goes above and beyond to create successful transition stories. I am thrilled that I became acquainted with this wonderful program and its leadership, and I look forward to supporting for years to come.
While my company has supported this organization for several years, I was first exposed to them in the February of 2016. As a volunteer I attended most of the semester for a group of student veterans. The growth in this group was outstanding. The lesson plan has been designed a program to help student veterans prepare for the transition from military to the corporate world. The skills range from how to dress and prepare an elevator pitch to writing an effective resume and LinkedIn profile. I would highly recommend this program for any student veteran. As a veteran myself, I could have benefited greatly from this program in my own transition.
FourBlock has been a partner of our company for the last several years. Within the last year, we've partnered with them at my local office. The program is phenomenal. As a veteran myself, I have been involved with several veterans organizations over the years. Of any of them, I've enjoyed the level and scale of impact that this organization is able to have. It's a wonderful experience to be a part of, and is as relevant and fulfilling to the volunteers as it is to the veterans being served. This is a first class organization all the way,
This group educates and transitions Veterans from Active Duty through Corporate Placement. Four Block is run, from the top down, by driven professionals that care only for the soldiers and sailors. Look to Four Block for polished young men and women, with proven leadership experience, to hit the ground running in your world class organizations.
I am a coordinator for student veterans at a university. After being introduced to the Four Block program approximately one year ago, I have witnessed the positive outcomes for myself. I have been fortunate enough to act as somewhat of a liaison to Four Block providing information and recommending the program to our student veteran population. The difference in poise, confidence, marketability, and all-round career readiness in our participating students is night and day. I see a greater degree of focus displayed by these students, with a clear objective and a calculated, strategic path to realizing it. These individuals definitely have a leg-up on their peers upon entering the corporate workforce after graduation and undoubtedly that advantage was earned through dedication to the Four Block Career Development Program.
FourBlock is one of the few organizations I have worked with in the Veterans space who defines the problem and; both articulates and implements the evidence-based strategies
they use and will use to achieve their goals. They have a clear vision and mission and are led by a Founder who is deeply knowledgeable, credible and engaged.
The mission of the Four Block program to best serve our veterans via employment is key to their future professional successes. Monica and the course curriculum helped me to move in a new professional direction and I successfully made that transition on September 1st. Thank you so very much.

As a Recruiter at Amazon and a fellow Veteran I thoroughly enjoy working with Four Block. There are many veteran organizations out there but they take it to another level. Monica is a very passionate leader who goes the extra mile to help the veterans. She is an excellent career coach and she is very knowledgeable in her field.

I was a FourBlock student while still a senior in college following my active duty service in the US Army. The insight and mindset taught by my instructor Monica was extremely valuable. I also would like to thank Mike Abrams for creating the organization and for the phone conversation we had. I am now starting a career with my dream organization and I doubt it could have happened without my experiences with FourBlock!
I met Mike Abrams a couple of years ago. I wasn't aware of any private organizations out there at the time, who understood the hardships our Veterans have trying to transition from Military life into civilian life. Mike "gets it" because he lived through it and leading once again through example. Thank you for all the hard work you do to help our Veterans.

Four Block has been an instrumental educational experience that has contributed to my successful transition from military service. I am in the Pacific Northwest and was introduced to Monica McNeal, Four Block Program Manager, through a mutual connection. I knew of Four Block from a previous program, but remained hesitant about enquiring for information. I am so glad I changed my mind about enrollment. The program offers many ways to help veterans, like myself, gain experience through structured classes, corporation visits, and distinguished speakers. I was surrounded by fellow veterans who had the same fears about how we need to proceed to showcase our talents for future employment. Luckily, the class prepared us for employer expectations and how we present our best self when addressing recruiters and hiring managers. I am well equipped for my future and feel confident about what I bring to an employer.
I have already recommended the program to other veterans based on my positive experience alone. Thank you Monica and Four Block for the many materials and experiences that I can take with me where ever I go. This is a program that no veteran who is unsure should be without.
Going through Four Block's program is easily one of the best decisions I've ever made. I heard about the program through the Dean of Admissions when I was taking my undergrad at Fordham University and within two weeks of being in school, Four Blocks' founder also reached out to me.
My original thought was the organization was only about gathering veterans together and going to various networking events around New York City, but the reality far exceeded any expectations I had. Each veteran has to go through weekly classes for a couple of months to prepare them for not just the networking events, but the whole job-hunting process. They brought in professionals each week to teach us how to build our resumes, write cover letters, make compelling LinkedIn profiles, conduct ourselves in interviews and, overall, building your personal brand. Then each week, we go to a different company in hopes of connecting with at least one of its employees. The best part about it is that these networking events are specifically tailored to Four Block vets.
I believed in Four Block's mission so much that I decided to do a fellowship with them to help meet recruiting goals and widen the organization's reach. It was the most rewarding 6 months of my post-military life.
Four Block equipped me with the tools and the confidence I needed to succeed after the military. I truly believe that Four Block is 100% responsible in helping me land my current job at the biggest advertising agency group in the world- McCann. Thank you for everything!
After suffering a severe lower back injury that resulted in surgery and a year of recovery at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Chris Vasiliou took on the role of a personal and professional mentor. He was able to help and guide me with the ability to become accepted at Fordham University and introduce me to Four Block in which is a premier nonprofit for assisting veterans like myself attain and accomplish new and never before seen goals. Thank you Chris and Four Block for your great and never ending assistance in the new chapter my of life.
The transition from military service to civilian life is often confusing, troublesome, and riddled with unexpected obstacles. For me, it certainly was--that is, until I was introduced to Chris from FourBlock, who is now my mentor. FourBlock is an outstanding organization that smooths out the rough edges of the shift for veterans, whether they wish to complete their college education, enter the professional world, or both.
The guys at FourBlock are great people who are sincere in their intentions, tirelessly dedicated to their mission, and definitely competent in their craft. Mike and Chris sacrificed their own time to sit down with me for our first meeting and offered a lot of encouragement but also legitimate ideas and concrete actions to help me get started on a positive path to transition. Also, I have introduced several of my buddies to FourBlock when they were dissatisfied with how their transition was going, and positive results began manifesting immediately. The best thing I could do for my friends was introduce them to FourBlock. Most importantly, I have never been left out to dry by these guys. If I don't hit them up every few weeks (at least), they are calling or emailing me. There are a lot of veteran assistance non-profits out there, but I have never seen one like FourBlock. I trust these guys and am grateful to know and work with them.
I was introduced to Four Block shortly after it was founded. Since that time I have served as an instructor, Executive Advisor, and currently as a member of the Board of Directors. Four Block's commitment to student veterans is at the highest level. Four Block founder, Mike Abrams, is probably the strongest advocate for veterans that I know. The organization prepares individual veterans to find internships during and employment after school ends. The strongest testimonials come from the student veterans themselves, who are living proof of the positive results they can achieve with Four Block's help. Corporations, partnerships, and professional organizations have thrown tremendous support to Four Block. They have recognized the value veterans bring to the workforce and want to continue to hire them for that reason. Four Block utilizes best practices and has created many unique and target strategies to help veterans learn job seeking skills that will last them a life time. It has been gratifying for me to work with student veterans. I have never met a more positive and talented group of young men and women. Four Block alumni are growing in size and in their ability to help one another find new roles that permit them to excel in the non-military world.
I was mentored by FourBlock as a US Marine Corps Wounded Warrior at Walter Reed. FourBlock is the only nonprofit to be officially sponsored by the command there. That says a lot. Their mentors follow through and care for you, as long as you commit to them. Their program and services has worked time and time again to help wounded Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and special operators. During my time there, I saw FourBlock help a Medal of Honor recipient navigate his transition/publicity process; a Navy SEAL amputee get into law school; a Sailor with a GED get into Columbia University; and a Marine pursue an Olympic career. As for my own post-surgery rehabilitation, FourBlock helped me build a bigger, better plan for the future; helped me plan my wedding; and now I am successfully employed. Living the dream.
